Good examples of a simple camp-cruiser based on production hulls and rig. The RusselBrown-PaulBeiker and and the Kelsall Typhoon look exciting. Sorry - we do NOT have contact information for any of these boats. Try the various mail-lists to find the perpetrators ;-) More pix of the Russ Brown / Paul Beiker design Brown-Bieker Brown-Bieker Kelsall Typhoon Kelsall Typhoon ========= A note from Paul with more info ============= Hi Tom, We called it the Trinado. Russel drew up the general plan and I did the weight, balance study, and computer lofting. It's a neat little boat (and very quick). It uses Melges 30 carbon mast tubes for the forward cross arms and Melges 24 masts for the aft cross arms. The original idea was to use the Tornado rig, but ended up putting a canting carbon wingmast on it. The main hull is strip planked cedar below the chine, plywood in the sides, with a strip planked cedar house and kevlar/foam aft deck. Total weight was 1100# (500kg). As it stands there aren't really construction drawings for the boat - just computer patterns and a bunch of details in Russell and my heads. We do have a mold for the main hull below the chine and the house. Production drawings could be produced if there is enough interest in the boat. Russel's down in the South Pacific on his proa right now but he's supposed to be back up here sometime this month. He's the one to talk to about the specifics of putting a boat project together. All the best, Paul Bieker
